How to Connect Your Shopify Store to Flodesk?
After you have signed up for your Flodesk account if you haven’t already. You’ll want to connect your Shopify store to Flodesk.
Before getting started be sure you are logged into your Shopify store and Flodesk.
Afterward, go to your Flodesk account > go to the settings (in the upper right corner) > scroll down to Integrations > in the middle you will see the following.

Click the “click to connect” area and enter the URL of your Shopify store and click next. After you do you’ll be directed to a page in Shopify that looks similar to the one below:

Read through the information on the screen. I just leave everything as is and then click “Install unlisted app”.
Then you’ll be redirected back to Flodesk where you’ll see that your Shopify store is connected to your account.
How to Segment Your Shopify Customers In Flodesk?
Now that you have your Shopify store connected to your Flodesk account. You may be wondering where do all your Shopify subscribers go inside of your Flodesk account?
Good question! When you connect your Shopify store to Flodesk. Flodesk will automatically create a new Segment for your customers. Which you can find by going to…
Audience > segments
From there you’ll see a new segment titled by the name of your Shopify store URL.
So when a customer signs up via your Flodesk popup or a Flodesk form on your Shopify website they will automatically be placed here.
How to Add A Flodesk Popup to Your Shopify Store?
You may be thinking how do I even add a Flodesk popup to my Shopify store? Let me walk you through the process.
First, make your popup form in Flodesk. Give it an enticing title and description, one that will encourage people to sign up. Also, make sure you add a great image to capture your visitor’s attention.
Once you have that done, now it’s time to install it onto your Shopify website.
Inside of Flodesk, copy the header code that is located in the embed section.
Then go to your Shopify store and click “themes” go to your theme and click actions > edit code
Once inside under the Layout folder and click theme.liquid

Scroll down to just before </head> tag and paste the code from Flodesk just before the </head> tag. Then click save.

Now go to your Shopify store and check to see it in action.
How to Add a Flodesk Form to Your Shopify Store?
You can also install other Flodesk forms on your Shopify store. Maybe you want a form visitors see when they scroll a page on your website and you don’t want to use the default form section from Shopify.
Create the type of form you want in Flodesk and then go to the embed page. You’ll see two codes a header code and an inline code. The header code only has to be installed once so copy that one first.
Then go to your Shopify store and click “themes” go to your theme and click actions > edit code
Once inside under the Layout folder and click theme.liquid

Scroll down to just before </head> tag and paste the code from Flodesk just before the </head> tag. Then click save.

Go back to your current theme and click customize and decide which page you want to add your Flodesk form.
On the left-side click add section > then click custom content > add custom block (select custom HTML)

Copy the code the inline code from Flodesk and paste it into the code box. Adjust any layout settings to be 100% and click save. Then your form should show up!
How to Send Emails to Your Shopify Customers In Flodesk?
You have your fabulous forms set up and ready for new customers to join your email list. But don’t leave them hanging send them a hello or welcome series.
Before you do create an on-brand email template that you can use to keep your list informed.
If you haven’t already, be sure to set your brand elements on Flodesk. You can do this by going to your settings > click on branding and add your logo, brand colors and connect your social media profiles. This will make things easier as you build your email template.
Once you have your brand settings in place. Then go to create your email template. You can start with one of the gorgeous templates that Flodesk offers and customize it for your brand.
Pick a template that will allow you to easily link your products so that you can help your email list subscribers make a purchase. Here is an example of a layout for products.

How to save your Shopify email template in Shopify
While you are designing your email add all the necessary information you want and then when you’re satisfied save it as a template.
You can do this by making sure you are in the design email section of Flodesk. Then on the left-hand side click the heart icon and give your template a name and description. This will allow you to refer to it later when you are creating future emails.
After you have your email written now it’s time to send it to your list.
Follow the prompts and fill in any necessary information as you navigate to the choose your audience section.
From there you are going to click on add segment and select your Shopify store name or the segment that has your Shopify audience on it. Then schedule or send your email from there.
Some notes about Flodesk for product-based brands
Flodesk while beautiful is a simple email marketing tool. Which is great if you don’t have advanced needs.
There are some things you can’t do with Flodesk as a product-based business. One is to send an abandoned cart email sequence. Which can be very helpful to help you recapture sales from visitors who don’t complete a transaction.
